{"id":221,"date":"2015-07-27T13:55:26","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T13:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/loveisrael.world\/?page_id=221"},"modified":"2015-08-01T19:19:49","modified_gmt":"2015-08-01T19:19:49","slug":"eli","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/loveisrael.world\/index.php\/bnei-david\/eli\/","title":{"rendered":"Eli"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/nachmankahana.com\/vaetchanan-5775\/\">BS&#8221;D<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Eli<\/b> (<span class=\"script-hebrew\" dir=\"rtl\">\u05e2\u05b5\u05dc\u05b4\u05d9<\/span>) is a large mixed communal \u00a0located on Highway 60\u00a0north of Jerusalem.\u00a0\u00a0It was named after the biblical high-priest who served in the\u00a0Tabernacle in nearby biblical Shiloh (1 Samuel 1:9).<\/p>\n<p>Eli was established on 11 September 1984, when three families moved into recently placed buildings. It was the first settlement to be attempted without a core group of families. Several families from Ofra, Kokhav HaShahar, and Shilo were persuaded to come for at least a year while more families would be found. The settlement was originally called &#8216;Givat Levona&#8217; after the adjacent settlement Ma&#8217;ale Levona.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years the town has evolved into the municipal center for the Shilo area settlement bloc. \u00a0Eli is also home to the Bnei David pre-military Mechina academy.
